UNRUHE (restlessness)
From
$249.00
Captured while approaching the Danish border, Unruhe explores the restless energy of a journey’s midpoint. This long-exposure frames a fleeting glimpse of the outskirts of a border town, where stark, practical engineering structures meet the soft, sweeping blues of the northern sky. It is a study of contrast, pitting the heavy mechanical presence of the tracks against the weightless blur of the living world passing by. Unruhe (‘restlessness’ in German) is a balanced, modern piece that brings a wandering sense of movement to any room with a bright palette and strong horizontal grounding. It captures that unique, expectant feeling of being in transit. Of moving through one world while looking toward the next.

DeutscheBahn series
The DeutscheBahn series was captured in 2023 while travelling from Berlin to Copenhagen on Germany's high speed trains, hence the name DeutscheBahn. Created using long exposures, typically 1/4 ~ 1/13 second exposures. Each image has been cleaned up (removal of dust and rain spots on the train windows) in Photoshop along with additional blurring and colour accentuation. No generative AI was used in the creation of these artworks.

Fine Art Giclée Printing
All Chillary Print Studio prints are on 310gsm 100% Cotton Rag stock using genuine Epson Ultra-chrome Pro inks on the latest Epson P20070 printer. Prints are archival quality and guaranteed not to fade or bleed for up to 100 years. It is the industry standard in galleries and museums across the world. Each giclée print will be dry mounted to an acid free 5 mm foam board using an archival adhesive film. This process involves passing the artwork through a press and bonding it to a substrate ensuring that the print remains perfectly flat and ripple free for many years to come.
Hand made Victorian Ash Box Frames
Timber mouldings (frames) are made from locally sourced, sustainable Victorian Ash. The timber is milled, hand sanded and painted by Format Framing in Richmond, Melbourne. All frames (except 200x300) are the shadowbox style, where the work is set back from the museum grade plexiglass for a very modern gallery look. Each frame is carefully hand assembled in Richmond using the finest quality materials. A museum-quality acrylic is used instead of glass to protect your print from damaging UV rays. It also has the added benefit of helping to keep weight down and prevent breakages. Each frame is finished with hanging wire.
The process
Images in the Shinkansen and DeutscheBahn series was captured using long exposures and lucky timing while travelling at 200 ~ 300 km/h. Each photograph has been cleaned up (removal of dust and rain spots on the train windows) in Photoshop along with additional blurring and colour accentuation. No generative AI was used in the creation of these artworks.
